Praschan Receives

Fayetteville, NC, has received an
award of merit from ASTM
International for outstanding leadership
in the organization of activities
and standards development in
committee D01 on paint and related
coatings. The honor, which is accompanied
by the title of fellow, is the
ASTM’s highest recognition for individual
contributions to standards
activities. Among his contributions, Mr.
Praschan was responsible for the development
of cooperation between ASTM
D01 and the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency, and between ASTM
and the International Organization for
Standardization.
In other ASTM news, the organization’s
resins and polymers subcommittee
DO1.33 is seeking manufacturers
or users of resins and polymers
to review alkyd, latex, phenolic
and silicone resin standards. The
group is part of ASTM Committee
D01 on Paint and Related Coatings,
Materials and Applications.
